SFO CONFERENCE PROGRAMME – Glasgow, 12 May 2012

 

SFO President, Kerr Jamieson looks forward to welcoming you to the annual SFO conference which is being hosted by the Glasgow Society of Organists.

 

The cost of the day will be £35 to include lunch and morning/afternoon refreshments.

0930  Registration and coffee; the Conference is expected to finish at around 5.00 pm

 

Chris Bragg   Educated at RSAMD, the Conservatory of Amsterdam and the Conservatory of Utrecht.  His programme will include works by Bach, Mozart, Bunk and Matter.  The Cathedral Square organ is a very fine Forster & Andrews of 1887, in particular, that firm's Opus 1000; it is an instrument worthy of this unique distinction.

 

A buffet lunch will be served in the hall.

Simon Nieminski  Organist of St Mary’s Metropolitan Cathedral, Edinburgh and Director of Music of The Robin Chapel, Edinburgh.  Simon’s theme is Albert Lister Peace, Master of the Music at Glasgow Cathedral from 1879 until 1897.  The centenary of his death falls on 14 March 2012 and, accordingly, one of Peace’s great-grandsons will be in attendance.
