Following on from the ESO's successful Messiaen weekend in 2008, we welcome back French music scholar Nigel Simeone, who will give an illustrated talk about the life and music of Jehan Alain, with particular emphasis on the lesser-known works, and placing him in the cultural context of the French organ scene of the 1920s & 1930s.
In association with the publishing house Bärenreiter, there will also be an opportunity to browse and buy their new edition of the complete organ works of Jehan Alain, published earlier this year. This three-volume edition will be available at a special price for ESO members.
